Phones offline for five days

Dad slams BT for lack of information A FATHER of two is lividafter he had to wait almost a week for a BT phone line to be fixed.

John Boreham, of Disney Close in Ingatestone, says he called thetelecommunications giant several times since Wednesday last week tohave the problem resolved, but without success. It seems contractorsreplacing gas mains in the village had cut through the cable,although BT did not resolve the problem until Monday evening.

Mr Boreham, along with 13 other households, only had hisconnection re-established late on Monday, just hours after theGazette contacted BT.
