Andretti wins wild Indy race // Leaders Unser, Fittipaldi thwarted by blown engines

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. It may have looked like a demolition derby.But that really was an Indy-car race Sunday at Road America.

Michael Andretti survived a day of wrecks and blown engines towin the Texaco/Havoline 200, but only after the Mercedes engine of AlUnser Jr. conked out about a mile from the finish line.

Also missing out was Christian Fittipaldi, who was runningsecond when he blew an engine with six laps left in the 50-lap race.

Unser was leading by a comfortable four car lengths at the timeof his demise.

"What a lucky one," Andretti said. "We were third-best today,but we were lucky enough to come out first.
